Jody Thomas, the outgoing "security advisor" for Trudeau -- whatever that means?  Don't walk under a ladder?  Throw salt over your shoulder to ward off evil?  Don't let a black cat cross your path?  Don't step on a crack? -- told Vassy Kapelos that she really couldn't be held responsible for the truckers' convoy protest because she'd only been in the job a couple of weeks. 

What??!! 

In that same interview, the never-misses-anything Ms. Kapelos asked her if she could have done anything differently, or taken any different decisions?  Thomas said that perhaps she should have, or perhaps she could have sought other advice, but in the end she was satisfied she had made the right choices.

Really??!!

In effect, what she was saying was that she really wasn't the right choice for the position in the first place, given that she didn't know what to do when she got there, and that she'd followed up by admitting her decisions were poor.  Of course, she didn't know that's what she was saying, or she wouldn't have said it.  But she was.

So, evidently, her appointment was another Affirmative Action fiasco.  She was not up to the job in the first place and then admitted she'd made poor decisions.  How's that for incompetence!
