I was getting a little sick of being Florence Nightingale and Julia Child to my bedridden hubby, so I got dressed up, put on the warpaint and headed to The Palliser Hotel in Calgary -- the only nice hotel in the entire region.
While there, I indulged. It was an Absolute martini, oysters, a glass of house white and a divine hazelnut dessert. I also did a little people watching and caught a couple of women with hideous hair.
