Forensic audit

That's our money flying out the door.

Those two words spelled the death knell for RoseAnne Archibald.  The now former head of the Assembly of First Nations called for one to get to the bottom of the financial dealings and shenanigans of the chiefs of that organization.

They promptly voted her out by video conference only days ahead of the assembly being held in Halifax.  They didn't even wait for the conference to begin; they dumped her in advance.

Gee, I wonder why?!

Actually barred physically from the meeting, Archibald posted three video speeches denouncing her dismissal and calling on fellow chiefs to "wake up".  She was roundly condemned by all but a couple of supporters, who presumably didn't have their hands in the unaccountable Indigenous funds' till.  Thanks to Trudeau, the Accountability Act, introduced by Harper, was the first thing the former cancelled the minute he took office.

Charmaine Stick, a brave lady.

I wonder what Charmaine Stick, above, thinks of this disgrace?  Remember Charmaine?  She is a member of the Onion Lake Cree band who, along with the Canadian Taxpayers Foundations, won a court order to have the band publicly post its financial records.  (I put my money where my mouth was and contributed to her legal fund.)  The band has refused and has been found in contempt of court.  They still refuse.  Some financial information is available, but not the salaries and expenses of chief Henry Lewis and band council members.  Those numbers they are still refusing to disclose.

Gee, I wonder why?!

And you wonder why I blog continually about this criminal activity.  While natives keep blaming the "white man" for their ills, they should be following Charmaine's lead and looking at their own leadership for answers and accountability.

"Forensic audit" are two words no dodgy organization ever wants to hear.  When B was on the board of the condo where we lived in Ottawa, he called for one and was immediately voted out of office.  He did the same thing when he was on the board of the condo we lived in in Calgary.  Dumped.

When he was president of The Calgary Tennis Club, he wanted a forensic audit on that bunch too.

Dumped.

That's what happens when someone dares follow the money.
