The main industry in many Western reserves is drug dealing. Now we have yet another facility Albertans will be paying for to the tune of $30 million to treat 300 addicts every year from a reserve population of only 2,700 people.
Insane! The startling statistic in all this is that seven times more Indigenous people die from drug overdoses than non Indigenous. Why is that? Oh ya, because the main industry is drug dealing. So sad.
It's so bad that all Treaty Six bands have declared official states of emergency due to opioid overdoses and deaths.
There's another treatment centre for the Stoney Lakota people. We gave them $11,000,000 for that one! Not to be outdone, the Siksiksa got $1.3 billion!!!!! I blogged this, ("Here's a number," April 12, 2022) And these numbers are over-and-above what they are given via the Indian Act.
It's all unconscionable. Something is very, very wrong with Trudeau who just keeps giving them money and money and money.
Remember the two prostitutes who were murdered in Winnipeg? Their families want the landfill they (might) have been dumped into dug up to (maybe) find their remains.
