Would someone please tell me....

The joys of Toronto!

....how the hell thousands of illegal asylum seekers are camping out and living on the streets of Toronto?!  How did they get into Canada in the first place??!!  Who let them in and why?!

Oh ya, I forgot, Trudeau actually mindlessly said, "Canada welcomes you" a few years ago and the floodgates opened.  Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Minister Sean Fraser -- another guy who parked his brains in a bin to get elected -- said, "Canada will continue to support the world's most vulnerable people fleeing violence, wars and persecution who seek our protection."

How dumb.  They're mostly economic refugees and they will immediately get welfare and health care at the expense of the taxpayer.  Whatever happened to due process?  Whatever happened to the concept of countries actually having legal borders?  Why are illegal refugees and legal immigrants dumped into the same category?  I mean, why go through due process when you can just stroll in with your designer luggage?

It's unconscionable.

Of course the buck stops with Doug Ford and Olivia Chow, who have to deal with this mess of humanity fouling the streets of Canada's largest city.  Chow's mistake was to run on a platform of housing affordability (in Toronto, that's a laugh) and humanity (of course she did, she's a died-in-the wool, do-gooding NDPer).

Numbers have grown by 500 percent in the last 20 months with no room at shelters.  Hence, they are living, eating, sleeping, procreating and defecating on the streets.  How'd you like to be a business owner in downtown Toronto (see below)?  Didn't think so.  The province is already paying for hundreds of hotel rooms, in addition to shelters, to stash people.

Isn't this charming?!

Previous funding for this madness stood at $700 million, including more than $215 million in Toronto alone.  Now the feds -- i.e., you and I -- will be forking over another $212 million.  "If you bring new people in, you have to step up," said Ford.  Does everyone forget that there's only one taxpayer?

The Canada Border Services Agency needs to deal with this debacle where it begins -- at Canada's borders.  But over-worked and don't-give-a-toss agents have just thrown up their hands in defeat.

Gawd help us.

Let them eat cake

I was going to say, "Let them eat sh-t," because that's what it amounts to.  After racking up HUGE bills last year on a bizarre and inappropriate trip to the Middle East (last time I checked, the Middle East was not part of the Commonwealth), which cost taxpayers $1.3 million, including $100,000 on gourmet, in-flight catering for her and 28 of her friends, Governor General Mary Simon has again doubled down on another unnecessary trip, this one to Iceland.

Why was she there?   Iceland is also not part of the Commonwealth, but the press release says she went to "demonstrate Canadian leadership in the Arctic and reinforce other priority issues for Canada (like what?!) in the North, including climate change, reconciliation, gender equality and youth engagement."

All a total pile of drivel and buzz words.  Gender equality?  Youth engagement?  Huh!?  Really?!  How are these issues specific to Iceland and Canada?  Why did she have to go there?  Did King Charles ask her to?  No, so clearly Simon must have forgotten she is the representative of the King in Canada.  Apparently, she thinks she represents herself.  Mary has lost the plot.

In the interests of "climate change" Simon racked up $64,799.57 in limo services.  Her hotel -- a mere 500 metres from the conference venue -- was apparently too far to walk, so she kept a few limos at the ready.  If anyone could use a bit of walking, it's Simon, who's a tad on the stout side:

For $64,474.57, Simon could have bought a brand new BMW, driven it around the island and then left it outside the airport with the keys inside and still saved money.

The entire trip cost us $298,353 -- with $115,353 in hotel costs.  Canada has an embassy in Iceland, so why didn't she stay there, as Biden did in the US Embassy in London when the Queen died?  Exactly.  Simon neglected to include in-flight catering, but invoices list beef bourguignon for the RCAF Challenger's nine passengers, who also dined on skyr mousse with strawberry sauce for dessert.

Oh, and there was that advance party that travelled to Iceland, stinging taxpayers for $18,600, including $6,400 for limo services to avoid that exhausting 500 metre walk.

As for clothing, Simon has fleeced us for $88,000 since taking office.

WTF?!, is all I can say.

"Clearly, Simon likes to jet around the world spending buckets of taxpayer cash, but what value are taxpayers getting out of all her fancy trips?" asked Franco Terrazzano, director of the Canadian Taxpayers' Federation.

What value indeed.

Simon, who in her previous life railed against the government with damning assessments of the treatment of Indigenous peoples in the Arctic, is now happily dug into the federal trough, gourmandizing away.

Forensic audit

That's our money flying out the door.

Those two words spelled the death knell for RoseAnne Archibald.  The now former head of the Assembly of First Nations called for one to get to the bottom of the financial dealings and shenanigans of the chiefs of that organization.

They promptly voted her out by video conference only days ahead of the assembly being held in Halifax.  They didn't even wait for the conference to begin; they dumped her in advance.

Gee, I wonder why?!

Actually barred physically from the meeting, Archibald posted three video speeches denouncing her dismissal and calling on fellow chiefs to "wake up".  She was roundly condemned by all but a couple of supporters, who presumably didn't have their hands in the unaccountable Indigenous funds' till.  Thanks to Trudeau, the Accountability Act, introduced by Harper, was the first thing the former cancelled the minute he took office.

Charmaine Stick, a brave lady.

I wonder what Charmaine Stick, above, thinks of this disgrace?  Remember Charmaine?  She is a member of the Onion Lake Cree band who, along with the Canadian Taxpayers Foundations, won a court order to have the band publicly post its financial records.  (I put my money where my mouth was and contributed to her legal fund.)  The band has refused and has been found in contempt of court.  They still refuse.  Some financial information is available, but not the salaries and expenses of chief Henry Lewis and band council members.  Those numbers they are still refusing to disclose.

Gee, I wonder why?!

And you wonder why I blog continually about this criminal activity.  While natives keep blaming the "white man" for their ills, they should be following Charmaine's lead and looking at their own leadership for answers and accountability.

"Forensic audit" are two words no dodgy organization ever wants to hear.  When B was on the board of the condo where we lived in Ottawa, he called for one and was immediately voted out of office.  He did the same thing when he was on the board of the condo we lived in in Calgary.  Dumped.

When he was president of The Calgary Tennis Club, he wanted a forensic audit on that bunch too.

Dumped.

That's what happens when someone dares follow the money.

Every year....

...Trudeau has to sneak into Calgary for Stampede.  No one ever knows when he's coming and he only stays a few hours.  Otherwise, his safety -- and even his life -- cannot be guaranteed.  Hared for him in Alberta is real and visceral.

Here he is with Premier Smith; they detest each other:

Flipping pancakes for two minutes before skulking out of the park and into an unmarked car, he was mobbed by immigrants.  There was not a white face in the crowd, save those who were loudly booing him.  That's the racial divide he has created, much to the detriment of Canada and its previously sterling reputation as an integrated and welcoming society.

We are so badly governed in Canada.  I pray for my grands, who will inherit what he has sowed.

Family

Had a lovely visit with B's niece from Australia today.  Here we are, she is a gorgeous women.  We had many laughs!  She loves my 2000 Honda Civic, five-speed Hatchback, which is coveted by many young men who stop and ask me if I would like to sell it.  No:

Thanks for connecting, Tina, xoxo

More of the same

The main industry in many Western reserves is drug dealing.  Now we have yet another facility Albertans will be paying for to the tune of $30 million to treat 300 addicts every year from a reserve population of only 2,700 people.

Insane!  The startling statistic in all this is that seven times more Indigenous people die from drug overdoses than non Indigenous.  Why is that?  Oh ya, because the main industry is drug dealing.  So sad.

It's so bad that all Treaty Six bands have declared official states of emergency due to opioid overdoses and deaths.

There's another treatment centre for the Stoney Lakota people.  We gave them $11,000,000 for that one!  Not to be outdone, the Siksiksa got $1.3 billion!!!!!  I blogged this, ("Here's a number," April 12, 2022)  And these numbers are over-and-above what they are given via the Indian Act.

It's all unconscionable.  Something is very, very wrong with Trudeau who just keeps giving them money and money and money.

Remember the two prostitutes who were murdered in Winnipeg?  Their families want the landfill they (might) have been dumped into dug up to (maybe) find their remains.

Why??!!  This will cost....wait for it.....$184 million and take three years!  After that, nothing will probably be found.  More insanity, but the family says....read on:

They think it's disrespectful if Canadians don't dig away.

Gawd help us all!
