I am talking about Brenda Lucki, the RCMP commissioner I have been saying has to be fired, unless she resigns. Now it comes out that she was putting political pressure on senior officers to reveal what weapons were found in the mass shooting in Nova Scotia in an effort to support the government's gun control legislation. Well, if you're a political appointment, you're going to put political pressure on underlings to keep your job.
She actually put out a statement saying that she didn't pressure anyone, but should have handled it differently. What!!?? How can both statements be true? Definitely speaking out of both sides of her mouth on this file. And putting out a statement, instead of holding an open press conference, is a chicken-sh-t way of doing business and being accountable.
She's a disgrace. Shame, shame. As I keep saying, affirmative action appointments that leapfrog over more qualified officers sets progress back 50 years. As Lia Scanlan, former deputy chief of RCMP strategic communications says, "The RCMP has a commissioner that does not push back against political interference by the federal government." Bluntly and nicely summed up by an insider.
